At the close of the year, it is imperative to reflect upon the on-going crisis in the D/FW region. Our region has witnessed an alarming increase in the number of suicides over the past three years, but this year (2010) we have seen the largest number since records were kept. This trend shows no signs of abatement as two more people selected to end their lives over the past week.

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in a situation but felt you lacked the professional and/or technical training to do so? In frustration you shrug your shoulders and decide there is nothing you can do to help, and thus you leave the issue with the mental reservation that "some one else will do it."
This is the sad reality among people when confronted with the issues of Critical Incident Stress Management and Suicide Intervention. We want to help 'people at risk', but we do not know what to do, so we do nothing, and nothing ever changes. But we can change this staus quo. If I told you that you could make an immediate difference, would you be willing to be part of the solution?
As the year draws to a close, I feel compelled to ask my readers to consider taking action by sending a monetary donation to help defray the operating expenses of Flame Think, Inc.. Your donations will help Flame Think, Inc. provide Critical Incident Stress Management courses as well as Suicide Intervention classes. Your donations will help us save lives.

Flame Think, Inc. was established in November 2009 as a Ministry of Helps and has since turned its focus on the issues of Suicide Intervention and Crisis Management Training.
